Switzerland Park

If you are planning out your trip to Nizhny or a current resident, you absolutely MUST go to Switzerland Park. This place is gorgeous. At first glance, it seems like it specifically for children, as a small amusement park is located near the entrance. I simply walked a little to the left and realized just how large and wide the park actually was.

Throughout the park are many beautiful trees and other greenery. About ten paces past the entrance, you can’t even hear the amusement park and the highway. The air is clear, the breeze is light, and vibrant foliage stretches on for what seems like miles. In addition to the wood canopies is a large open area that features a beautiful monument. Beyond this are rolling hills and slopes of green that end in what I believe to be the Oka River.

As my friend and I strolled along the many pathways within the park, we enjoyed the calm beauty of nature- in the form of both trees and cats! The trip to the park was certainly worthwhile and enjoyable. I certainly advise anyone and everyone to make a special trip there to get away from the city. It would be an ideal location for a picnic or a just a place to collect one’s thoughts.
